I want to use to screens spliting my desktop. I have an onboard adapter (SIS 305) and I added a 3DForce4MX. The problem is that now my onboard adapter has disappeared but when I take away the new adapter the onboard appears again. |

welcome to the wonderful world of onboard hardware. you have three options. 1-Check your bios and see if it has an option to disable the bios using only one video output. some older mother boards had a jumper 2-purchase a video adapter with dual video support 3-purchase another video adapter and pop it inot the pci slot. |

The drivers for the video cards have to be dual monitor capable. Check with the manufacturer on the latest drivers and see if they have any type of faq's or support forum. what is the chipset manufacturer of the Sis305? The Jaton is a NVidia card right? You should be able to set in bios to use the VGA card first (preferable if its a better card than the onboard.) I would have to open up BIOS to tell you probably where it would be. But it would probably depend on that Sis305 onboard card whether you could dual monitor or not. |
