how do i set fsb? i'm pretty sure my cpu is supposed to be able to handle 266, but it doesn't seem to let me change it in BIOS. damn..that score pissed me off.

well your card isnt optimised for dx9 and pretty much everyone gets a ****ty score if you dont have the new ati, 3dmarks is teamed up with ati so pretty much everyone with a ati card will get a better score then us nvidia whores

Check your motherboards manual about the FSB settings. If you cant switch it to the speed of your Ram (which is 333? you didnt list it.) then I would take the Mobo back and get a different one. They shouldnt have sold you one you couldnt run at higher FSB than 133, unless - is your Ram DDR? if not then get a different board.

If that 3DMark2003 then thats somewhat normal, since people with like 3Ghz P4's and Radeon 9700 Pros get around 5000. Try it with a different set of drivers. And changing the fsb is just overclocking the processor. So do it carefully, or just don't do it.

Well the FSB should match your Ram. 133 is pretty old now, since new mobos have 512 speeds. Yeah I wouldnt over clock your FSB, you cant increase it that much and it usually causes problems. I am wondering if you bought a mobo for pc133 Ram?
Right now I wouldnt get anything less than a board that has DDR 333 slots.

No, his mobo is for DDR 333 RAM. He has PC2100 I think. So the fsb and the RAM speeds are automatically set at a 1:1 ratio by the BIOS, unless you change it manually which is unrecommended.

I was wondering where he is getting that FSB speed of 133? It should be 266, right?

Well, no, 133 fsb is stock and it's the normal speed for his cpu. It's the optimal setting with that RAM also. So, I'm pretty sure his low score was not caused by low fsb.

Pc2100 is DDR 266 speed ram. His CPU might be rated for 133, but I am running my XP1800 at 333, so maybe it is his CPU that is causing that. Your pc's performance is greatly increased by that FSB. That is where bottleneck occurs from your Apps and OS loaded into Ram and the processing done by your CPU. I am not sure exactly how that affects 3d tests, but an upgrade to 333 or 512 will have a significant performance increase in your pc.

Er I'm pretty sure your AthlonXP 1800+ isn't running at 333fsb, I have the same cpu and it can't possibly go that high.

To know for sure download this program (263KB) and see what is says under System Clock that's your fsb speed.
