I want to run a wireless deal with two computers. I have a wireless bridge which I am using now. Here is my question...

Can I just use my hub.
Connect the main connection to the hub then run two cat5 cables from the hub to each computer, or do I need a router and do something special? Thanks...

Yup, that will do. Use a switch if you want each comp to get the full connection. Hubs just shares it.

Similar to a Hub except that is smarter. A hub just repeats messages.

switch reads MAC address and sends packets to computer, while hub just sends to all and you nic then looks through them, get a switch =) they are sexy

Switches build the connection dynamically. Thus with a switch, there's rarely collision, which means that the media used to transmit the signal isn't really shared.

Pank - If I were you, I would avoid going wireless until you familiarize with yourself with acronyms such as WEP and words such as 'hacked', 'exploited' and 'vulnerable'.

Beleive it or not, there are people out there who scan for open wireless networks then use your network to do bad things, man.

Only option I have is a wireless deal.
No cable, no dsl, it sucks...
I run BlackIce and Sygate Firewall 24/7 so I think I'm good to go ;)

If you want ur personal network to be more secure, add a router. Block out outside traffic.
