the problem with that whole contest, is that the winning artwork would be owned by the company. Artists never sell or give away their ideas. They lease them for companies to use, but they get credit for doing it and forever acknowledged as being the designer.

This contest was essentially trying to buy someone's artwork by offering a prize, which is stupid.

But the main problem was that they TOTALLY f****d the guy who's design they stole. They could at least give him the prize, and then alter the design however they want. Instead they denied any credit to the real designer.

At least the designer is level-headed enough not to go crazy over it, but you can't blame him for being pissed. I wonder if he could really sue over that kind of thing.....
