It's better than a Power Mac G3, just not so good as a Dual G3. I believe Apple seriously overstates/oversells the power of their computing products. Mainly because most of it is the exact same as IBM based machines.

My ass. So you're saying that a hemisphere object is the same as a grey square box? Go to the site and have a look at the insides, it's not the same at all. The OS has been build right from the start, not an extension of the previous OS (9), like Windows XP. It's based on a Unix system, meaning you can actually run windows on it too. My uncle has had one for 4 months now, and it's never crashed..

Get OS X! Everyone I know that has it absolutely loves it.

Not talking about the OS, the hardware is the same material save for the CPU. There are no tricks to make Apple's machines run better given that very few components are different. Even taking the OS into account, the bus speeds for all the components involved, not to mention the speed of the components themselves will have a similarly configured pc perform about equal. Apple's OS doesn't run rings around the competition that I have seen.
