Hey People! New team member here. I'm trying to print off one of my wallpapers and for the life of me I can't get it to center. I've gone through every motion, every box and yes I checked center image, but the damn thing is offset to the left of the page. The left margin is 5/16 of an inch and the right is 5/8. The page layout is set to landscape and I have an HP P1000. The image is 1280x1024 and print size is 10x8-what gives? Thanks for your help! |

You're probably not missing anything. I've gone through this with every computer/app/printing configuration I've ever worked on. This would include a state-of-the-art Mac with Quark XPress 4.11 and a US$100,000 (or somewhere close to that) Canon CLC-1000 color laser printer, where I wanted accuracy down to 1/256". At least I found out in that case it was a Quark problem and not a Mac or Canon problem. Quark just never got around to updating their PPDs, the bastids. After weeks of calling in the service technicians I simply aquiesced to the fact that I had to compensate for the inaccuracies before I sent an image to the printer through the network. Get used to it, and develop your own methods for offsetting the image before you go to print. Once you see figure out that your particular set ALWAYS prints a set amount offset on both axes, create an action that you can run that will move your image to compensate for the quirks of your setup. |
