If I start telling how I get my stuff, my site/designs won't be as original right? ;p You don't see damnengine telling how he does his crazy grunges. I just tell a little here and there, so ya'll can use it, then develop your own style ![]() ![]() |

here's how axiom does his "grunge" look. first, I break out and old flannel shirt. don't button it up. underneath that is an old black t-shirt. Faded blue jeans with holes in the back pocket, and the hem's on the leg are frayed...mostly from the jeans being too long, me wearing sandals and them dragging the ground. Secondly, black boots. Don't tuck your pants into your boots, cause that means you are either a woman, or a sissy. Do not tie the shoes. Lace them loosely and let the pant leg sit on top of the boot. Finally, top it all off with choatic hair. If you want a grunge design...I suggest you don't use any brushes ( looks too manufactured ) and you don't follow any tutorials. If you know what 'grunge' looks like, you can pretty much make it by throwing stuff into an image that would not normally go together, play with how it's laid out and have everything with jagged edges. Of course, all the cool grunge is offset with clean design and the 'grunge' as a backdrop. Sidez has a great site. Outbreak and some of those other cats here that use grunge as their style have their own methods...some of it mimics other designs, but it all original in its own way. |

hehe nice tip Axiom.. and well, if you just "throw" things into an image it might be grungy, but for the jagged edges i would still use a brush... it diens't have to look "manufactured".. but hey, ill look into it, ill find some strange pictures and throw them all togehter ![]() txh guys |

I hardly ever use grunge... But I did once for a project on using imagery to make a point. I used mostly brushes. Click Here
