copyright infringement

anyone know a site I can read up on what EXACTLY the guidelines are on copyright infringement?

so to copyright something, do you actually have to go do something or can you just be like "i copyright this"

i never have understood exactly what you have to do to get something copyrighted.

Well, there is official copyright, where you pay about $210 (not including $1000000000 in lawyer fees) to get a certain work copyrighted, but there is also,...can't think of the word...like, assumed copyright, where if you wrote a book, but didn't officially copyright it, there are certain laws that still cover it as copyrighted. Then there is electronic copyright, that covers works published on the internet, both written and graphical...though I think it's a bit of a touchy subject.
