How do I get rid of writers block, but for designing?

I used to have loads of ideas brimming for web and graphics design, but for some reason they have all suddenly disappeared. Has this ever happened to anyone? Its a serious, serious problem, I just can't seem to come up with anything and I can't progress any further or improve because i have a complete lack of any idea.

Do you think it is possible to burn yourself out, and if you have, how do you amend things?

i'm having it now.. its due to trend
back then when i started, interfaces use to kick majoy ass..
now people are more into trendy stuff.. 3d renderings..

i can't do trendy, so i'm out of options...
can't render 3d, but learning

now, i'm laying on my bed trying to find some "original" design to come out with... seems like a lot of things been done..

wonder whats next...

Oh, it will happen, and it will happen often if you just sit in front of Photoshop and expect to come up with amazing ideas. If I cannot think of anything, I usually sit back for a few days and not think about it at all...then I come back and I'm all better. Granted, I don't pick flowers and dance in the woods like some of these.....guys......but whatever works works.

There are some good ideas under Outbreak's post. (He promised us cookies)

I heard it was a good idea to keep an idea notebook. When your ideas are really flowing and you don't have time to use them all, you should write them down so that you can view them when you feel creative block creeping in. I have never tried this.

Of course, that won't help you now.

The best thing to do is NOT stare at a blank piece of paper or computer monitor.

Sometimes just doing routine things differently helps. Like brushing your teeth in the kitchen sink instead of the bathroom sink. Or leaving your home out the back door instead of the front door. (Don't try parking your car in a different place, you may never find it.)

Draw, doodle, n' stuff. Doesn't matter if its uninspired, but doodles can lead to inspiration even if they weren't themselves drawn with it. I rarely draw anymore, but I doodle with every aspect of photoshop if I need to come up with something new. That works for me.
