Hi

I'm getting the following image printed

The printer came back saying that it's a four colour job. I noticed on their info sheet that four colour jobs incur a 25% surcharge, yet 5 -8 colours don't. Why does four colour cost more?

Cheers

CM

"four colour job" probably means 4 colour process, which is a half-tone printing method used to create photo-like images from just four colours: cyan magenta yellow and black. Although only four screens are used, the positive films needed to make them have to be colour separated at a repro house, therefore they cost more as do the special inks.

If you only want a few shirts, you could consider printing from an inkjet onto transfer paper and ironing on. Won't last as long as screen printed though.

Yeah, what wano said....

Also, If you'll make the hand and face grayscale... you can get away with 3 colors.
