Need a little help deciphering screen printing costs |

			Hi I'm getting the following image printed ![]() The printer came back saying that it's a four colour job. I noticed on their info sheet that four colour jobs incur a 25% surcharge, yet 5 -8 colours don't. Why does four colour cost more? Cheers CM  |

			"four colour job" probably means 4 colour process, which is a half-tone printing method used to create photo-like images from just four colours: cyan magenta yellow and black. Although only four screens are used, the positive films needed to make them have to be colour separated at a repro house, therefore they cost more as do the special inks. If you only want a few shirts, you could consider printing from an inkjet onto transfer paper and ironing on. Won't last as long as screen printed though.  |

			Yeah, what wano said.... Also, If you'll make the hand and face grayscale... you can get away with 3 colors.
