Is PaintShop Pro 8 better than a Photoshop?

Is PaintShop Pro 8 better than a Photoshop? My M8 says it can do the same things as Photoshop CS2 but Im not so sure it will.

If you want alot of "canned" effects and don't really want to get to know a program. Then PSP if for you.... If you want to use what the pros use and actually learn something then its not.

Will it do EVERYTHING photoshop will do... No
Does it make people that really don't know what they are doing anyway "FEEL" like it will do anything photoshop will do...Yes

PSP is a great program for people that just want to edit their family vacation photographs. I have it... and my wife uses it all the time.
