How come nobody mentioned this? I can't believe you guys didn't tell me about what Nintendo was doing to gaming. This is INCREDIBLE! Forget graphics, forget stats, gameplay is where it's at, and this is going to take console gaming to the next level.

Though I don't share your explosive enthusiasm, it does look good, atleast for games with sword fighting. What about hand to hand combat? Though that could be slightly dangerous for others around you.

One big problem though, you always have to have it pointed at the tv.

That's part of what's kewl, is you don't!!!! It's using RF... Bluetooth actually and gyroscopes. So, it won't have to be pointed at the TV, unless you're shooting something that's on the screen.

Sorry Dan, thought you would have heard about it through the grapevine.

It does look really cool and unique. It could either truly revolutionize gaming, or it could be a huge flop. Really depends on the games. For instance the DS is kind of gimmicky like that too, but games are finally starting to come out now that take advantage of it and aren't just a cheap gimmick.

Another concern I have is that since this controller is so wildly different than anything else, developers won't be able to port over their franchise games very easily, which may mean an even slimmer selection of games than you normally see on a nintendo console.

But, I really am looking forward to it, and the developers seem really excited about it as well. I'll definitely be getting one on opening day. Great to see someone out there not only concerned with graphics and HD.
