When the bids so far for creating 2 logos range from $8-10 and the client is looking for a price under $10, or a client is looking for a full online dating site for under $225...yeah, can't wait to bid :rolleyes:

Has anyone EVER had any sort of luck with reasonable project prices on these elance-type sites? Because i've never seen it.

Well I myself am a programmer, and I've had great amount of projects. And I did not have to bid lower then the budget.

Its all in presentation, if you show a client that you really know what you are doing. He or she might very well pick you, instead of a programmer who did not post a private message and/or outbid everybody.

If you have an idea on how to make this site a better one, I am open to any ideas. Because I am sure a lot of people feel the same way you do, and if there is something can be done to eliminate that feeling, .. lets fix it.

I don't know if it's necessarily anything fixable, there are already a lot of people people who feel like they can get something for nothing and sites of this nature IMO encourage that.

I've spent a lot of time in the past bidding on eLance and similar sites (whose names escape me), looked at the bids and known that my work (without being arrogant) was far superior to that being presented by other bidders, and have never won a thing. It got to the point where it simply wasn't worth the time spent.
