http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/business/0,39023166,39116016,00.htm?sessionid=316 Maybe I'm reading this wrong or don't understand it, but why is it the RIAA people that do the raiding and not a government authority of some sort? Since when did the RIAA become a ****in' police force? The judge gave the copyright holders permission to raid the CEO's houses without notice... Does that mean if someone copies one of my graphics and I get a court order, I can just break into the suspects house and ransack their house looking for evidence that they copied my GIF? What the hell? |

EFFING CRAZY Isn't that in Australia though? I guess over there it's legal for a copyright holder to search for stolen material over there. It's an insane law, given that they don't have to be notified through court preceeding. |

Yeah it is Australia... the RIAA trys to do similar **** here though. With their ex-police officer secret bootleg task force. Remember the story on the parking lot attendant that got raided because he was selling bootleg cd's? He said he thought they were police 'cause they were all in black clothes like a swat team or something and didn't properly identify themselves. Bastards.

Anyone entering my home who's not an official, authorized government authority, and does so without permission, will find themselves leaving with a few more holes than they entered with.

That's what you get for presumably downloading music though MBB. Pretty soon they'll enter with tear gas, a battering ram, and a bunch machine guns.

I think Kazaa is going to become illegal here in all of the E.U..i read about it somewhere. It's already illegal to have Kazaa on your PC. The thing is though, nobody can look through your computer because of Data Protection laws..so how is this going to work? |

Do these guys carry firearms (the ex-police), if so, why isn't the government doing anything about this (in the US)?

The fact that they have their own police force is (I think) illegal. It should be done through a police force. No WAY is anyone in their right mind going to give a gun to a person who's angry that their songs are being listened to on a computer. |
