I think that article is demonization of Microsoft itself. There could be very good excuses, like security issues for police, FBI, CIA, etc. But the article is still demonization, while Microsoft is no Apple, they still get a decent rating in my book.

Decent, not great, just decent.

I'm not condoning it, but I'm not in a position to completely accept it. My only real concerns for clearing my history & temp files are to clear up space. As long as those files don't take up massive amounts of space I'm not too worried...unless it becomes illegal to visit teamphotoshop.com, then I'm screwed.

Hidden

thats not "really hidden".....thats not with dos, and

"Microsoft Internet Explorer has not been clearing your browsing history after you have instructed it to do so,"

yes it has. My file is only 200k and modified daily.

Also type "C:\WINDOWS\History\History.IE5\index.dat" into your broswer, click save and open it in notepad. still not hidden.......

My index.dat in my History folder seems to be stuck at 80k. I've hit every site in my favorites, did a Google search for "the", hitting the first 60 links or so, but my file doesn't seem to be growing in size.

I did open the file in notepad and perused through some of the data, but I haven't checked to see if it's adding new, removing old, both, neither, etc.
