I still want a G5 or a quality Powerbook like yours.

Oh and yes, add me to the list of your detractors ;)

Have you watched ebay to see what those apps are going for? Might be worth it to dump them and buy what is essential on a mac if you really really want one....

Fig,

The size is really quite nice. As long as you aren't doing photoshop or something... For everyday things like email, chat, web browsing, etc. it's perfect. And it supports dual monitor so when you are at home or the office you can hook it up to an external display and run it at over 1600 x 1200 (don't remember the exact max res on it, but it's a lot). This way you get the best of both worlds in my opinion. When you just need a little laptop it is small enough to be completely portable and be very light. Then when you are ready to do some development you can just hook it up to a normal monitor. Not many people are going to be using PS on a plane or anything anyway, so you can easily just hook it up to that other monitor for that.

Cheers, dek! - wait until you're wireless and changing out your fantasy team, listening to another machine's mp3's, and getting email - all while you're taking a dump.

Okay, I've never done that, but I'm not saying I never will. :D

Yeah these posts of yours make me really want to switch over to Mac. How are you playing mp3s and transferring photos from your PC to your Powerbook? LAN? Internet?

There are a couple things I am wondering about compatibility (keep in mind that I know nothing about computers):
- Can you get MSN messenger service?
- Are disks (3.5" etc.) formatted for Mac/Windows?
- Any other issues you have had since you are in the minority of computer users?

Just wondering. Enjoy Ronin ;).

yay ! go derek were now mac laptop brothers what a great ocassion!

and tom.. yes you can get msn for mac
there are 3.5"floppies formatted for mac, but since I don't think the 12"powerbook or ibook have floppy drives who needs them.

Congratulations on a nice laptop.

The only beef I had when using one were the incredibly slippery keys... it's insane, it's like they're covered in dry graphite.

Too bad it has a crappy OS... ;)

edit:
I do hope that you realized it was a joke... right?
