So I hear that MozillaFirebird 0.7 is out. I wander on over to Mozilla.org and download it. This is the first time I have ever upgraded Mozilla software and I know it has all those funky instructions and such. Anyways, I have it on my computer (the .zip file) and I cannot figure out how to install the [insert swear]. When I try to run the MozillaFirebird.exe from the .zip file it says that there is some .dll file missing and I should reinstall some stuff. When I extract the .zip contents to a folder and try to run the .exe, nothing happens. To make a long story short, I am angry and begging for help. I am using IE (eegads!) to write this message. Please, someone have mercy on a poor web designer ![]() |

There is a reason that there is a swear filter. Was it necessary to work around it to get your point across? I swear all the time, but don't find it necessary to express myself like that when clearly it's frowned upon. I don't get you people. The filter isn't there to make your life challenging. It's there to keep things clean and civil. Is it cool and "1337" to type "fvcker"? Is it cool and "1337" to say "fvck the man, I'll swear if I want too?" That's the lamest thing I have ever seen. I know upgrading Mozilla is highly stressful and a demanding job, but come on...try reading those "funky instructions and such". Or hop on the ol' IE Express, got to Mozilla's site and do some research. But maybe it's like the swear filter. Mozilla is mearly trying to challenge you. Yeah...that must be it. |

All I've ever done is unzip it and open the exe. If you are upgrading, delete the old firebird directory first, then unzip the new version. (all of your bookmarks and settings are not stored in that directory, so it is safe to delete it) Or like the others said, you could just read the instructions. |

chances are the 1st time failed because u ran it from the zip, and the 2nd time failed because the first failed attempt from the zip wasnt closed properly. Make sure its closed then run it from your temp folder....

Actually if you downloaded the .zip that is the install directory. There are no dll's installed anywhere. The entire program runs from the folder you unzipped it from. All I did was unzip, find the .exe, send it to my desktop as a shortcut, and that was it... Delete the unzipped folder and try unzipping it again?? Works fine with me without any bugs... |

Dunno what's my problem then... *Tries again* EDIT: WOOHOO! It worked! I dunno why it didn't before. Must have been 'cause I tried to run it from the .zip folder first (dumb). |
