Why is military service required in Finland? I know I'm not up on world affairs, but when was the last time that Finland was involved in a military affair? That may sound like a sarcastic question, but it's not, it's serious. I simply cannot remember.

I think it's just Finland's theory about defending their country...past or no past. Thank god Ireland is one of the rare neutral countries :D Anyone bombs us and that country will be absolutely obliterated by our allies....(mostly americans)
