http://www.sherwin-williams.com/default.asp Their logo seems kinda strange to me... I mean the Earth getting covered in thick, red stuff? With words "Cover The Earth". Sure as heck doesn't make me want to but their paint. Discuss. |

That logo is probably like 30 years old, it has nothing to do with the wars...

30 years... Think more like 60 years... It's been pretty much their corp identity logo for a very long time...

I've had a particular fondness for that logo for 40 years, though I must admit that I prefer the older, simpler version over the new, "slicked-up" version.

Yeah... I dont think that has any relation to the wars. Its just their slogen to become the worlds "most used" paint... or something along those lines :P

I did not mean than they did this logo with the war symbol idea... I just pointed the possible interpretation of their logo... Still red is nota common color ofr a logo... its to much an agresive color... blood as always been red! |

You see, the blood reference would also be true if it were blue. Since blood is blue... it's only red when we see it since it gets oxidized as it comes out of your body. If you look at the veins on your palm... they're blue-ish. But, yeah... I still think that the company should reevaluate their logo. Maybe replace the globe with some little kid's head.. or something. :D |

All lies MJ! Your blood looks blue because it's below your skin. Edit: I just looked on Google and found: "First thing: Blood is *never* blue. Blood is described as dark red (venous) or bright red (arterial). Our veins look blue because we are looking at them *through* our skin. The blood inside them is dark red and it doesn't reflect light very well. The blood you see when you get hurt is usually venous blood. Arterial blood comes out in spurts. It spurts every time the heart beats. I hope you never see that." http://www.globalclassroom.org/blublud.html |
