Ok i got this old pic i wanna scan. The only problem is it's incredibly dark!!! Under normal lighting you can barely see anything. Ive tried scanning it a few times already/brightening it in PS but nothing works. Now when i hold this photo up to a light...it brightens up and looks fantastic. So how on earth can i scan this?? I thought maybe i could put a light behind the photo as i scan it or something?? Any ideas would be great!!! |

Lighten it with your scanners settings before you scan. Then take it into PS, lighten it a bit, then start using overlays that lighten it up, that way it wont gray out.

Usually on my scanner, the white base of the scanner lid allows enough light to bounce back so the image actually comes out brighter than the original photo... Upload the raw scanned photo somewhere and link it so I can see how badly it comes out. :o |
