Hello, i've been looking to buy a new cd-player because the album i just baught (fear of the dark- iron maiden) is an enhanced cd hence it will not play on my old POS $50 cd player. I've been looking into the Sony DNE510 ( http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&dept=9&WLBS=fsweb9&sku_id=0665000FS10028030&catid=&newdeptid=9 ) and i wondered what you guys thought and what kind of personal audio systems you guys use?

I can't quiet give you a specific model. However I would suggest this:

If you really do listen to music... a lot invest in something that is a cd player/mp3 player/ and maybe even radio. Have it have unlimited skip protection too.

Or, if you don't have CD's but just have oodles of mp3's, get a minidisc player. They're cheaper than mp3 players, don't freeze or anything, transfer rates are fast. And you can basically store more than an mp3 player (except like ipod) since you can have multiple minidiscs which are like $3. The Sony netMD is like $90. I LOOOOOVE mine.

I use the SONY DCJ01 MP3/CD player with G-Protection (unlimited shock protection.. unless you drop it on the street), built-in charger. The remote doesn't come with the American market model (*hugs remote, go japan!). Battery life is amazing too, adverstised estimates are around 24~32 hours for standard AA, 16~20 hours for rechargeable blah blah. CD's burn faster than you can transfer stuff onto minidiscs (700MBs in ~2mins). The only problem is it's quite thick, but if you carry it around in your bag then it wouldn't matter either. Loading times are extremely short (7 seconds for initial CD scan on insert, 2 seconds for regular boot and 2 second pause between track loading).
