Designing for Web Standards

Zeldman has put out a new book entitled "Designing for Web Standards".

It's not so much a technical CSS/xHTML referance as a step-by-step guide of actually putting the technical specs into use and making good sites without tables. Zeldman is a good writer, and probably one of the best people to write a book like this.

I ordered my copy last week, and I recommend anyone else interested in this type of thing order a copy as well.

Yes, I think it is a pretty tacky and unprofessional cover myself. But it matches www.zeldman.com and I guess that's what they were going for. He puts his face on everything he does for some reason. His last book had his face or eyes on it I believe. Silliness.

But he does know what he's talking about, and it looks to be a good book, regardless of the cover.

yeah, zeldman's last book 'taking your talent to the web' had his eyes on it. Will be going to pick this one up in a few days. Dek, I thought you gave up on web standards.

I switch back and forth a lot. Kinda like I switch back and forth on liking PC's and Mac's...

I do want to learn CSS better and all that and try to use CSS layouts... But I'm not all anal about a site validating. I think that's a little silly. As long as it looks good in all the major browsers, I really don't care if it validates or not.

speaking of books pank...I still have not received the book I was supposed to get from friends of ed when I got 2nd place in that contest. I guess it's too late...hell, I even called in sick a couple days waiting on it.

Every single other person got what they were supposed to. FOE CC'd me an email they sent to you. They needed and address confirmed since you are out of the country. I saw them trying and I know I tried. Send them another email and link to the thread where this was talked about.
