killing SPAM at the source?

so far, spam assassin has been great. it tags all the unwanted emails and pocomail knows to move the messages tagged ****SPAM**** in the subject line into the junk mail folder. before i empty the junk folder, i glance at them to make sure nothing i want was tagged by accident. i am no longer flooded with spam. thank you spam assassin.
