I know, it's impossible to get an unbiased opinion, and some of these will probably make either side roll their eyes, but it's an interesting read:

Hm, i agree on the biased opinion part. I'll still however say that XP is better, for being used more and being more versataile. Meaning that more software (games too) is made for Windows, rather than MacOS.

PS: The prices on that site are kinda off, I bought WindowsXP PRO, full version, on www.newegg.com for $140. Nice and legal.

So yeah, IMO, WindowsXP Proffesional is better than OSX.

I haven't read the whole article in detail yet, but so far I agree with everything. Except the Caps Lock at logon thing. The reviewer thinks it is better to disable the caps lock key without even notifying the user. But I think XP handles it better by making the pop-up dialog box. If someone meant to put on caps lock for an all caps password, they would be confused by OSX disabling it without even notifying them. Just like if they didn't mean to have Caps Lock on, but did.

Just read the whole thing. And after reading it i have just gone to sites tha he's mentioned and am doing all sorts of things. Like getting guitar tab directly through my search I got a search from the american medical libraries for my sister (she's a second year med student). And now i've just installed my applescript developers toolkit, never knew i had it! I loved this page the most:

Developers tools are pretty great. There are several editors that work on a drag and drop basis. I can just keep dragging those aqua buttons and stuff Only trouble is i have no idea at all how to script!

Sure beats the windows side where you have to pay insane amounts of money to get the developer tools. I'm really looking forward to AppleScript for when I finally get a Mac. Being able to automate so many redundant tasks will be great!

I read the part about the one-button mouse being better. Now that is preposterous, no matter how you look at it.

Applescript...pfft. Learn Java, and you'll be better off, it works anywhere. :p

Java doesn't control existing applications like AppleScript does. Not to my knowledge anyway. And AppleScript looks a whole lot easier to learn than Java. And in my experience, every Java application I have ever used is slow, buggy, and crashes constantly.

As for the one mouse button thing... Yes. I would buy another mouse if I got a Mac. Lots of times I want to lean back in my chair and just do stuff ith the mouse. not have to use a second hand to press the control key. Or wait for like 3 seconds for the context menu to come up after holding down the mouse button. I really don't see why Apple still uses the one mouse button. Sure it keeps things simple... But pretty much anyone that has ever touched a computer knows the difference between the left and right mouse buttons. Plus no Apple mouse has a scroll wheel. Which is a little silly. Scroll wheels are just second nature for me. I would be frustrated without one.

I think he is refering to Javascript. Java isn't really a scripting language.
