Got too used to 7.0 I almost forgot how 6.0 felt like... :p After a while you'd just get all nice and fuzzy and personal with 7.0 you'd hardly notice a difference. .. .. well in my case it was.

HAHAHA, funny stuff there. I would stick with PS6, and save the ~$600 for something else. |

it's not $600 is it? Well anyway, i'd also suggest you save the money for something else, not worth it imo

I would spend the money on an iPod or something. There isn't much worth upgrading for in 7 except some pretty icons.

I would say that it is worth upgrading if you are interested in the new natural media brush engine or the new heal and patch tools. There are however umpteen improvements over 6, including the file browser (less useful if you are on a Mac). Essential? Maybe not. Desirable? Certainly. |

I never use the file browser, the patch or heal tools, or anything that needs the brush engine.

It's absolutely worth the upgrade price. The Healing Brush Tool and the new Paintbrush Engine are extraordinary and worth the price all by themselves. All you'll need to do is have a project where you need to retouch a face—the Healing Brush Tool is quicker, and works in a way unlike any other tool ever did—you'll be hooked. It is NOT just a glorified Rubber Stamp tool, and has the potential for saving the regular user gobs and gobs of time. Plus: User-definable Tool Presets; Presets Manager (for managing gradients, swatches, custom shapes, brush sets, styles patterns contours and tools on-the-fly...was that in 6?...I forget now); The Image Browser; Spelling Checker; Multiple, saveable Liquefy distortion meshes; New Layer Blend Modes; Multiple, Saveable Workspace presets; New-Document Size presets; Pattern Maker; Better Color Management. Find someone who has it and give it a few hours of testing. Then, if you decide you need it, get it. Or wait until this fall and upgrade to the forthcoming Version 8. It has some stuff that'll blow your mind....sorry that's all I can say about that. |
