I'm really getting into making video cd's... they make great gifts! But I find most of my video files are .avi, .mov, etc .. and not correctly encoded with MPEG-1, and so cannot be played in dvd players. Anyone know of some software that'll encode these into the correct formats? I'm a bit new to the encoding process.

avi, mov can not play on dvd players.... if you want them to play they must be .mpeg and burned to vcd... if you want to reencode avi or movs to mpg it is possible and you can find all the tools you will need at www.vcdhelp.com have fun.

Rumour has it that some company is going to make a player that supports DIVX avi, mov, etc. Doesnt that just seem wrong considering the problems with :: ahem :: on the internet?
