I guess teaching yourself is the best way to learn, mostly by experimenting. And if all else fails, View Source ;) But don't publish it as your own work of course, use it as a basis of learning HTML.

me? well i learned first with webmonkey.com, then i started to view the source of sites and steal code to learn on my own, and then frontpage came along, and i learned the rest from frontpage. and no, just because i use frontpage doesn't mean i CAN'T code an entire site using just notepad, because i can and that's how i do 90% of my editing, FP is used only for setting up tables for me because it's 100 times faster. :D

I actually learned HTML by using AOL Press, AOL's old WYSIWYG editor. It really helped me by inserting an image or a link then taking a look at it in the source window. Online resources also helped me out a lot, too.
