I feel like closing this thread right now... it's already deteriorated to a bunch of random nonsense comments that are a waste of bandwidth to download and time to read.

What's a forum without flame? It's like saying how one can cook without fire?

I don't think anyone feels either one of you is doing a poor job. On the "controary", you're doing a great job (sucking up kinda guy, eh ?). That wasn't the issue but rather to let "discussions" go on further than they do today. As for the example at hand, I for one couldn't agree more that it was time to close it...:D :D

I think Panks rule is ok
The rule "I" try to stick to is, heated discussion gets me going. I love it. It starts going too far when it gets to the point of "personal" attacks.
The problem is to know/judge when the personal attacks begin, and there is where you mods come in and I think what you decides have to go, period.

As for this, Charm
and if you think 'debating' in an online forum builds character, you are nuts.

Well, yes I am, thought that was made clear by now :D.
But I disagree with you. Why shouldn't a debate build my character (might be using the wrong word here...) ? What I mean is, if you enter a discussion that gets heated and blablabla, if you can be open to others opinions and think about them before you go on and answer, you should be able, in some cases, to learn something ?? Is that totally wrong ? At least you could learn that everybody don't have to agree and that you get upset about others opinions, and even learn to deal with that fact without passing death-threats out...;)

...I'm still waiting. I'm patient but not foolish...so I never expect to see proof.

I'll wait a little longer, but in the meantime...can I interest you in a new, virgin-silk eyepatch? My lovely asociate here will put a shine on that woooden peg-leg--very cheap, very cheap. How about a cracker for the shoulder mounted parrot? They come free with the cover charge.....

Arrrrrrr, matey! I'm in the mood for an quick-n-dirty keel-haul!

;o)

OK...smell ya later, dog butt. Sniff me on the flip-flop. Until then, I'm gonna go take a quick fly in my legal Apache Attack Helicopter, which, I assure you, I actually own. For secrecy reasons they don't provide the register receipt when you buy one of 'em, otherwise I'd be quick to show it to you.

:^P~~~~~~

Because I'm busy, I'll freely admit that I set up firecrackers (little ones...no M-80's or Quarter Sticks) with long fuses so that I can return here, and a few other places, to catch people with their eyes opened to the size of teacup saucers.

I never intend to make anyone feel like they should come and punch me in the nose, though.

Because that'd be a mistake I'd be loathe to react on.

:o) «---EDIT: WhatDaHeckIsThat? Redface graphic emoticon? I keyed in a standard text smily, i.e. : Colon, lower case "o", close parenthesis.

OK..let 'er fly.

Well this discussion is making me listen to the Dream Theater epic song called "The Great Debate".....
I won't get involved in any discussion where there are namecallings and childish manor such as "I rule and you suck...". If noone gets what I mean, that's fine because even I don't sometimes. :D
